I was married for 19 wonderful years to my best friend and partner, Brent, who passed away in December 2013 after a nine year battle with cancer. Together, we have six children – four boys and two girls ranging in age from 8 to 19 years old.
I was first introduced to Love and Logic® parenting techniques in 2003 by enrolling in a parenting workshop. I saw so many benefits from using the skills through good and bad times in my own home. In 2005, after Brent was diagnosed with cancer, our family went through a lot of changes during our battle with this disease.
Those periods where he was in remission were the easiest but, with the skills we had learned, we were able as a family to communicate and work together through those times of illness. In 2012, Brent became unable to work and provide financially for our family and I began my training as a life coach in order to assume that responsibility.
My heart was drawn to life coaching and it seemed only natural to include facilitating Love and Logic® classes as part of that decision. I love working with parents and families and look forward to helping many more families and individuals as a certified life coach.
What an incredible gift it has been to me through Brent’s illness and even his passing to be engaged in a work that includes strengthening relationships with the people closest to us. My hope is to share the skills that I have learned with those families and individuals who coach with me!
